1st Taiwan International Piano Competition


The Council for Cultural Affairs R.O.C. presents the 1st Taiwan International Piano Competition, to be held from 25 September to 5 October, 2003, at the National Concert Hall, Taipei.

The Competition is committed to encouraging the development of classical music culture, stimulating international cultural exchange, and establishing a valid forum for promising young pianists to present their talent, artistry and inspiration.

The 1st Taiwan International Piano Competition will be held from 25 September to 5 October 2003 at the National Recital Hall and the National Concert Hall in Taipei, Taiwan, R. O. C.

The Competition is open to pianists of all nationalities, born after 5 October 1972 and before 25 September 1987.

All Applications must be sent to the 1st Taiwan International Piano Competition: 5F, No. 276 Chien Kuo South Road, Sec.2, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C. no later than 31 March 2003. This deadline will not be extended under any circumstances.

The prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the Jury and content Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals, money, and 10 concert engagements.

All prizewinners must perform at the Prizewinners Concert to be held at the National Concert Hall on 5 October 2003.

Contestants will be provided with accommodation, meals and all competition-related local transportation. Travel expenses must be borne by contestant. However, contestants will receive international travel subsidies.
